I always have page protectors and dry eraser markers. They are a great way to make my exercises have multi-uses. Children love the fact that they can easily erase. I use them:
* making my math exercise folder filled with various 3-5 min math activities. To start lessons or end them I let them choose a game or activity from this folder. They can just take it out and use a dry eraser marker to play the game. After finishing it all they have to do is wipe it clean and put it back into the folder. This makes it easier for me to change the activities and saves me a lot of $$$ from laminating.
* penmanship activity - With 3 sizes of paper (8x11, 3x4, 5x7), I color the sky, grass, ground and put them in the page protector. I have one for each student's binder to help them when they are doing a penmanship activity. It acts as a whiteboard with 3 different sizes of area to help them practice letter/number formations. I use this for spelling drills too instead of just using a lined piece of paper.
* to have a few page protectors in their binders also are great for organizing take home cards or other smaller game cards or handouts that can't be hole punched.
