Children use the different combinations of beginning sounds and end sounds to practice how to sound out words with the 'ea' sound. It can be used as an auditory drill, 3 D torpedo drill to help in teaching the sound 'ea'.
How is this multisensory?
- by using styro-foam helps use the kinesthetic/tactile sense by touching/moving the pieces around
- visual sense is incoporated by seeing the letters written onto the bread pieces and moving them around from beginning or end of the word - promotes phonemic awareness
- saying aloud and sounding out the different word combinations uses the auditory/ speaking senses
