* take home cards - if I taught a sound or sight word or sequence. I give them a card so they can record it and bring home to put it in their take home box. I encourage them to do activities at home with the cards to help them review sounds and concepts taught.
* cue cards can be used to make their own personalize visual deck. Visual drill is one component of an Orton Gillingham lesson. Five minutes is spent every lesson to practice the sounds known/ newly taught from previous lessons. They are asked to "say the sounds as many ways as they know". One side of the card has the sound and the other side has a picture of the keyword that reminds the student of the sound.
* I have some cue cards laminated so I can change up the visual drill practice for various sight words and phonetic words. This is another section of the OG lesson where we spend 2-3 mins practicing reading words and reviewing sight words.
* cue cards can be easily made into a memory game or made into an a visual drill obstacle course around the room.
